Eurovision ‘09

I watched both semi finals and final of Eurovision on the weekend which was in Moscow this year. I reckon that this year  they had the best stage ever. Loved the design.  It was so epic with the stage being composed of mostly LCD screens especially the movable curved LCD screens and bacground. I liked the hosts Natalia and Andrey. They weren’t very good but they were a hoot!! THey both probably had one too many champagnes backstage..  Postcards came out my Miss Russia or Word’s hair showcasing famous landmarks from each country. I jotted down some comments for all the entries, starting with semi final 1
Czech Republic- It was very gypsy like, the only novelty sort of song this year. Loved the costumes and the funky lycra/spandex superhero suit and moustache. However nothing can beat Ukraine ‘07 in terms of novelty songs.

Belarus- I thought this song should have gotten into the final. It had a very James Bond theme sort of vibe. The people onstage were pretty awesome too, complete with air guitarists, dudes with flowing hair and a figure enveloped in a white shroud  as result of a wind machine. Very funky.

Sweden, La Voix
Ohh, the “Popra” a blend of pop and opera sung by a lady with “nerves of steel” as the commentators put it. Didn’t like it ver much at first but some after got in my head.

Armenia- wore stylish “harem” costumes. I didn’t know Armenia was in Eurovision O_o.  I can’t get over how awesome the stage is.

Andorra – girl band, lead singer looked like Geri Halliwell.

Switzerland- OMG, ajdfhadfh *spasm* I AM SO MAD!!! I can’t believe that didnt get in the final. Their song was really good. Thanks Eurovision for introducing me to a band called the Lovebugs.

Turkey: Dum Tek Tek: again with the “persian haremn” costumes and belly dancers. Chanelled Shakira and Beyonce Israel- ad for peace
Iceland- Yohanna could pass for American
Macedonia- sort of 1980s rock sort of music like Aerosmith, KISS that type
Finland- slightly boring apart from the fire effects in the background
Portugal-  no comment
Bosnia and Herzegovna- I want their coats, Napolean Era costumes

THe interval act included dancing, old and new, spaceships, the military choir, Tatu ( I think they might have lipped the whole song tbh, they sang the same song in MTV a few years back and you could tell which was live and which wasnt) and drumline. I really like these particular acts.  Well done to the Russian Eurovision organisers, Ivan would be proud.

Entry III

Its the second last day of the holidays and after two more sleeps I’ll be back at school. I haven’t done anything or gone anywhere this holiday and  have officially spent 14 days sleeping, bumming around and surfing the cyber waves. I can’t decide what fandom I’m going to go into next.. >< Should it be Trinity Blood, Count Kaine, Dolls, Loveless or Mnemosyne?

 I wish Australia had a wider selection of Asian games. Seriously Japanese games are so limited on the Australian market.  I’ve been wanting to get my hands on Sigma Harmonics, Persona 3  and some BL type of games Sweet Pool for a long timeeee and most of these you can only get in Asia without the cringeworthy english dubbing.  My mom’s gone overseas and I’ve asked her to get some games for me as well as coloured contacts and a cosplay wig but I dont think she understands me very well *facepalms*. Old people just don’t get it.

So after a lot of delibration and with the help of wiki I watched  the first ep. of Trinity Blood.Vampires x Science Fiction x Conspiracy an interesting combination. It looked cool when the vampire of vampires pulled out this totally badass looking weapon while he was fighting a vampire on the roof of a plane which was programmed to crash into the Vatican. Therefore I shall watch the next episode and decide if its worth pursuing this series.

Entry II

Ive just finished Boys Over Flowers and the following is my overall opinion about the series.

• SPOILERS AHEAD*

Yarppp, I shall begin with the last episode. I didnt really like the ending of Boys over Flowers because some plot lines are like never resolved- Jun Pyo’s mum accepting Jand Di, what happened to Jihoo and his grandfather, Woo Bin and the marriage. OMG THE MARRIAGE Proposal. She didnt even accept because FF-oo Por suddenly popped out of nowhere and the episode ended. Regarding GE and IJ I think its safe to say they got together. When Yi-Jung came back from Sweden into the kindy classroom where GE was with her class of kids to start things up again all I could think of  was*not in front of the children!!* Anyway its amazing how little had changed in a period of 4 Years just like how little it had changed in 6 months. Also are we expected to think that Jihoo will end up alone, when he is like one of the leads until he rots away and dies or will he marry that little girl whose throat hurts.

Overall i thought this series was overdramatized and cheesy in some places as well. The actors are moderately ok looking but they are not like “BOOM” in your face hot. Sometimes the acting was really fake and the editors need to know when to play the music at the right time XD. I really like the fashion especially  for the guys the clothes for the women were pretty as well. Finally WOo Bin should have gotten more screen time….

YAY! I just finished the first season of Vampire Knight and currently reading the manga.  OMG I really like this series and Im starting to get into vampires now. Its so damn angsty , which is a sign of a good series. I haven’t decided who I like better, Kaname or Zero.  The art of the series is really erotic but not in a sexy way.. if you know what I mean. Shall revisit the anime circuit after Monday which is my last test, (its history)

First Post :D

I’ve finally decided to write something on my blog.  Nothing of interest is happening this weekend  if you don’t count catching up on Heroes episodes and my daily dose of internet movies and television. I got my hair cut again this weekend and I look like a retard. Its so short now, its shorter than my brother’s hair  – I look like boy*sobs* It wanted to get it cut before school photos which is on Friday and now the idea of taking a good school picture for once has just faileeeeddddd.
